What is a CSCS Card?
A CSCS (Construction Skills Certifications Scheme) Card demonstrates that you have the skills necessary to do well in your trade as well as the Health and Safety knowledge required to work safely.
The CSCS Card you apply for is determined by your level of preparation, experience, and credentials, and is classified using a colour system.
Who provides the CSCS card?
The Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) issues the CSCS card, which is a non-profit organisation established by the government with the goal of reducing accidents on construction sites, boosting construction workers' skills, and ensuring they have sufficient training for the job.
What is the Health, Safety and Environment Test?
This is a multiple choice test on health, safety and environment issues in construction, usually taken on a computer.
Duration of the test is 45 minutes where you will face 50 questions that you need to answer. If you pass or fail, you will receive the score report straight after the test.

Can I do HSE test online.?
No, you can do only practice online with authorised study materials. The Official test need to be completed in an authorised Pearson Centre.
GREEN CSCS Labourer Card
This CSCS Labourer card is valid for 5 years and is renewable . Is the most popular card that individuals choose to start their career in the construction environment as a general operative.
There are 2 requirements:
- Pass the CITB Health, Safety and Environment test for Operatives within the past 2 years.
- Pass the SSP Health & Safety Awareness 1 Day Course or Level 1 Award in Health & Safety in a Construction.
RED CSCS CARDS
This card lasts for 6 months and is not renewable.Applicants must have passed the CITB Health, Safety and Environment test for Operatives within the past two years.
This card is valid for 4 years and 6 months, and cannot be renewed. Cardholders are expected to complete their apprenticeship by the time the card expires and apply for a skilled CSCS card.Applicants must have passed the CITB Health, Safety and Environment tes within the past two years.
This card is valid for 5 years and cannot be renewed. Cardholders are expected to complete their qualification by the time the card expires and apply for a skilled CSCS card. Applicants must have passed the CITB Health, Safety and Environment test within the past two years.
The card is valid for 1 year and cannot be renewed. Cardholders are expected to complete their qualification by the time the card expires and apply for a skilled CSCS card.Applicants must also have passed the CITB Health, Safety and Environment test .
The card is valid for 3 years and cannot be renewed. Cardholders are expected to complete their qualification by the time the card expires and apply for a supervisor or manager CSCS card.Applicants must also have passed the CITB Health, Safety and Environment test for supervisors or managers and professionals within the last 2 years.
BLUE CSCS Skill Worker card
The Blue Skilled Worker CSCS Card is valid for 5 years and is renewable.There are 2 requirements:- Pass the CITB Health, Safety and Environment test at the within the past 2 years. - Achieved a construction related NVQ level 2 /SVQ.
GOLD CSCS Card
The Gold CSCS Card is valid for 5 years and is renewable.There are 2 requirements:- Pass the CITB Health, Safety and Environment test at the within the past 2 years.- Construction Related Supervisory/Technical NVQ or SVQ Level 3 or 4
BLACK CSCS Card
The Black CSCS Card is for managers is valid for 5 years and is renewal.There are 2 requirements: Pas the CITB Health, Safety & Environment Test for Managers and Professionals (MAP) -Achievement of a relevant Construction Management/Technical related NVQ/SVQ level 5, 6 or 7A or SVQ Level 4 in Construction Management/Technical related qualification or Holding a pre-existing NVQ level 4 in construction management.
